CARING FOR THE MEDICALLY UNDERSERVED PATIENTS IN AND AROUND THE WACCAMAW NECK

    * MEDICAL: Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants provide free of charge primary and preventive health care.
    * PHARMACY: Low cosst and generic medications are available for many chronic and acute illnesses.  Patient Assistance Drug Programs, sponsored by different pharmaceutical companies, are also available.
    * HEALTH EDUCATION: The Clinic offers a diabetes educational program for all diabetic patients and offers nutritional counseling with a registered dietician.

The Smith Medical Clinic was opened in 1985 by Dr. Cathcart Smith and his wife, Nancy, following his retirement from private practice in Conway, SC.  Under Dr. Smith's direction , the Clinic prospered and grew.  The Clinic has expanded to a renovated facility on the HCFM campus in July 2000.  The Clinic's mission has always been the same, to care for the medically underserved patients in and around the Waccamaw Neck.
